What Does a Cleaner Do at Pick n Pay?

Store Cleaning & Maintenance: Sweep, mop, and scrub all floor areas including aisles, entrances, and back-of-house spaces. Maintain clean, dry, and hazard-free surfaces throughout the store at all times.

Ablution & Facility Care: Clean and sanitise customer and staff restrooms regularly throughout each shift, restock consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, and report maintenance issues promptly.

Waste Management: Collect, sort, and dispose of waste correctly across all store areas. Empty bins on schedule, manage recycling stations, and ensure refuse areas are kept clean and odour-free.

Spill & Hazard Response: Respond quickly to spills, breakages, or slip hazards on the shop floor. Place safety signage, clean the affected area, and notify the relevant department to prevent customer injury.

Equipment Care: Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including mops, buckets, scrubbing machines, and wet vacuums. Store equipment correctly after use and report any faults or damages.
