What Does a Security Officer Do at Pick n Pay?
Access & Crowd Control: Monitor store entrances and exits, manage customer flow during peak trading hours, conduct bag checks in accordance with store policy, and ensure only authorised personnel access restricted areas.
Loss Prevention: Identify and deter shoplifting and internal theft through visible presence and floor patrols. Monitor CCTV feeds, report suspicious behaviour to management, and assist with apprehension in line with legal protocols.
Incident Response: Respond swiftly and calmly to incidents including altercations, medical emergencies, theft, or disturbances. Coordinate with store management and emergency services where required and complete accurate incident reports.
